Review The Counselor

Boooooo. Booohooo!

I mean, yes! Finally Ridley Scott is going back to it’s roots: great movies, awesome characters and real human chemistry between the actors. Just like he did with Prometheus…

No.

Lately there is this trend where great directors take a handfull of actors, good actors, and it just implodes (RED comes to mind). But the Counselor also takes a shot. And don’t get me wrong, there are a few nice dialogues. There is a GREAT scene where Cameron Diaz does something to a car (go on, search ‘cameron diaz car scene’) and a few memorable action/killing scene’s. But that’s it. That is not a movie!

That’s a good trailer, at best! Michael Fassbender is really disappointing, Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem are ‘meh’, and I found Cameron ‘gold tooth’ Diaz to be really annoying. Penelope Cruz wins with putting a little bit of real emotion in one or two scenes.

And don’t get me started on the moral of the movie. If you do something bad, even worse stuff will happen to you. That’s not how the world works. It’s stupid and childish.

Don’t watch it, even if it is on TV. You may however enjoy this.
